BURNABY – The B.C. Coroners Service (BCCS) and Richmond RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance to help them identify a male whose remains were found on June 8, 2008 on the shore of the Fraser River South Arm near the western foot of Williams Rd.
The individual likely originated from a community further upstream from where his body was found, such as Abbotsford, Coquitlam, Delta, Langley, New Westminster, Richmond or Surrey. The BCCS has determined that he died months or even years before his remains were discovered.
The subject’s ancestry is unknown. He had a medium build and was approximately 170 cm (5ft., 7in.). He wore full upper and lower dentures and was likely between 45 and 55 years of age at the time of his death. The only clothing found was a brown leather deck-style shoe, men’s size 8.5, and a sock labelled “NIKE”.
Please see the Coroners Service website (Case File 2008-0278-0587) to view and download photos of the clothing and a facial reconstruction drawing at: 2008-278-0587 - Province of British Columbia
