Siljander was last seen on June 28, 2000 at the Marina Park in Thunder Bay, Ontario. At the time, he was described as confused, forgetful, and appeared to have experienced severe weight loss. A few months later on September 15, Siljander's vehicle, a grey 1981 Chevy pickup truck, was found abandoned on a logging road south of Thunder Bay, near the Canadian and American border. In the month prior to his disappearance, Siljander had been living at the Hodder Hotel. He has never been seen or heard from again.
