Ditmars was reported missing to the Thunder Bay Police Service on November 24, 1982, by his family after not hearing from him for a period of time. In the early 1980's, Ditmars had been seeking work as a welder in British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba. He has never been seen or heard from him again and his whereabouts remain unknown.
