Circumstances of Disappearance:
McKenzie was last seen at the border of Schefferville, Québec and Labrador-Québec on July 31, 1981. He was traveling in a taxi with his wife, along with a few friends and relatives, when a disagreement broke out. The cab pulled over and McKenzie hopped out of the vehicle, going on foot into a wooded area. He failed to return and has never been heard from since. Despite extensive searches conducted, McKenzie was never located. His whereabouts remain unknown.

<<Daniel was 23 years old when he was last seen in Schefferville, Quebec on July 21st, 1981. Someone reported him missing after witnessing him run out of a taxi he was sharing with his wife and relatives and into the wilderness near the Quebec and Newfoundland/Labrador border. An argument had ensued between those in the group. For many years those in the taxi were plagued with community rumors about what happened to Daniel, and some authorities posited that he may have wanted to stay gone. More than 40 years later his daughter, Marjolaine McKenzie, is still searching for answers. Daniel remains missing.
