Nelson Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a Nelson man who was last seen at 9:30 pm on June 4, 2017. He was last seen in the 200 block of Anderson Street in Nelson.

Mr. Greyeyes is a 55 year old First Nations male. He is 5foot 9 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He has brown collar length hair and brown eyes. He has visible tattoos on both forearms and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black t-shirt and brown hiking shoes.

Human Remains Found near Nelson, Identified as Missing Person Mr. Darwen Greyeyes

Nelson Police Department Release - On April 30, 2021 the Nelson RCMP received a report of possible human remains being found in the West Arm Provincial Park, north-east of Nelson. An investigation conducted by the BC Coroners Service and RCMP confirmed that the remains were indeed human.

DNA analysis undertaken by the Coroners Service confirmed the remains have been identified as belonging to Mr. Darwen Greyeyes who was reported missing on June 23, 2017. Foul play is not suspected and the Nelson Police Department will be concluding their missing person investigation.

The BC Coroners Service has taken conduct of the investigation.
