Police continue to search for missing North Vancouver man David Andrew McLean and have renewed their plea for public assistance in locating the 50-year-old.

North Vancouver RCMP are renewing their plea for public assistance in locating 50-year-old David Andrew McLean, missing since October 9th, 2023.

"Our Investigation Support Team has now taken conduct of this file," said Cst. Mansoor Sahak of the North Vancouver RCMP. "We are concerned for his wellbeing and are eager to locate him. There is no indication at this time that foul play is involved in his disappearance."

Investigators have reviewed extensive video footage and have confirmed he was last seen in the 5600 block of Kingsway Avenue in Burnaby, BC, on October 9th, 2023 at 4:21 p.m. He was last seen leaving the area in a 2001 Blue Volkswagen Golf.

In an effort to further the investigation, investigators are releasing images of McLean’s vehicle in hopes that someone may recognize it and call police.

Description of vehicle:​

• 2001 Blue Volkswagen Golf
• Bearing British Columbia plate 876EHJ
• Silver roof racks with aluminum/grey bars on top
• Black connecting points
• Billabong sticker on left back window
• Black Hawaiian turtle sticker on rear window

"The blue Volkswagen has the British Columbia licence place 876 EHJ, silver-coloured roof racks with aluminum/grey bars on top, a Billabong sticker on the left-rear passenger window and a black Hawaiian turtle sticker on the rear window.

North Vancouver RCMP first put out a call to help locate McLean on Saturday. A family member last heard from him Oct. 9, Sahak said. The disappearance is out of character for McLean and he is considered to be at risk, Sahak added.

McLean was last seen in the clothes he’s wearing (army green jacket and black shirt) in the photo released by North Vancouver RCMP. He’s described as being white, 180-centimetres tall (five-foot-eleven), 82 kilograms (180 pounds) with green eyes.
