A 66-year-old British Columbia man camping in Awenda Provincial Park has been reported missing, Southern Georgian Bay OPP said in a media release.
David Hilworth has been reported missing from Awenda Provincial Park, 670 Awenda Park Rd., Tiny Township

David Hilworth was last seen at 8:30 a.m. this morning (June 24) leaving his campsite with his dog. The dog was later located safe in the park, but Hilworth has not been located.

OPP investigators, the OPP Central Region emergency response and canine units, and park staff are continuing the search this afternoon in the park grounds.

Awenda Provincial Park is made up of more than 2,900 hectares of forested land on the shores of Georgian Bay with 31 kilometres of trails, according to its website.

The OPP is asking for the public’s help to locate Hilworth. He is described as a white man, six-foot-one and 180 pounds. He was wearing reading glasses, grey/white checkered shorts, a plain orange-coloured T-shirt, a Green Bay Packers ball cap, and black Crocs footwear.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or [email protected], or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can also be provided online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.

"Police say David Hilworth was camping with his family in Awenda Provincial Park and walking his dog on Friday morning.
They say campers found the dog, but there was no sign of Hilworth."

Hey I think this is him! No name in the report, but sure sounds like a match to me:

"A camper who went missing Friday morning after taking his dog for a walk at Awenda Provincial Park in Tiny Township has been found safe.

Provincial police say the OPP Aviation Unit located the 66-year-old man from British Columbia on a property near the park nearly eight hours after he was last seen.

Police had launched an extensive ground, air and water search with the help of the Coast Guard and K9 unit after the man was reported missing.

Police say he and his family are camping in the park.

Simcoe County paramedics took him to a local hospital for examination and to be treated for any injuries due to the weather."
