Two years on, still no sign of Perth South man Derek Ritz | The Stratford Beacon Herald


The Perth OPP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing 51-year-old Derek Ritz out of the Sebringville area.

Derek was last seen getting into a vehicle outside of his residence on January 1st, 2017, at approximately 2:30 a.m.

He is known to visit Stratford regularly, often travelling by bike or foot.

Circumstances of Disappearance:
Ritz went missing from Sebringville, Ontario on January 1, 2017. He was last seen getting into a vehicle at his residence on Avonton Road around 3:00 a.m. and has never been seen since.

Prior to his disappearance, Ritz regularly walked or rode a bicycle along the nearly 10-kilometre stretch between Sebringville and Stratford. Despite extensive searches on the ground and with the aid of an OPP helicopter, he was never located. His whereabouts remain unknown.

The police know exactly what happened and know who is responsible but no arrests and they won’t get a reward for him. It’s heartbreaking.
