Details of Disappearance:
Bester disappeared from Toronto, Ontario, on January 18, 1981. She was last seen at approximately 12:00 pm when her boyfriend was giving her a ride to her sister's house where she was residing at the time. When he stopped at a traffic light, Bester jumped out of the car and said she would continue on alone. She was reported missing by her sister a few days later when she failed to return home.
At the time of her disappearance, Bester was struggling with depression. She was supposed to check in to the North York General Hospital, but never showed up. Investigators did not consider the circumstances of Bester's disappearance suspicious, and had no reason to suspect she met with foul play. The police cleared her boyfriend of any involvement in her disappearance. Bester has never been seen again and her whereabouts remain unknown.
