The Peterborough Police Service is asking for the public’s assistance in locating missing person 19-year-old Elio Rustage-Baker.

Elio was last seen on Sunday August 25, 2019 at approximately noon hour in the area of Victoria Park, where tent city has been set up since July 1.

Elio is described as 5-feet, 8-inches tall, with a thin build and short, dark hair. He has hazel eyes and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, grey hoody, running shoes and carrying a purple/black backpack

This is really sad. Was the tent city part of an event or was it for the homeless? Was it like a carnival?

I am assuming it is a giant homeless community, we had one last year in Minneapolis for displaced and disenfranchised Native folks. It’s beautiful and so incredibly heartbreaking at the same time. Praying for this young man and his family

A couple of media reports and a little bit of Reddit chatter indicating Elio (goes by the nickname Pip) may have headed to Toronto after being evicted. Elio is a trans youth, his deadname is Chloe. Is anyone aware of any prominent queer / trans youth shelters in the GTA? There are a few organizations in the Village that cater to both trans and queer youth, but none that I am aware of as specifically providing housing.

Police continue search for missing 19-year-old Elio Rustage-Baker | kawarthaNOW

Peterborough police are asking for the public’s help as they continue to search for missing person 19-year-old Elio Rustage-Baker.

Elio was last seen on Sunday, August 25th at around 12 p.m. in the area of Victoria Park in downtown Peterborough.

Elio is currently believed to be in the Toronto area, and may be using a red bicycle.

Elio is described as 5’8″, 110 lbs, thin build, with short dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Elio was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black pants, a grey hoody, running shoes, and carrying a purple/black backpack.

If he was transgender, then he REALLY is at risk, especially among the homeless. Putting aside general mental illness, its amazing how UNaccepting homeless communities can be about things like that.

I so so hope Elio is found soon and unharmed!
Sometimes people need a break from their everyday life and I’m hopeful he’s taking a week to himself. Patiently awaiting good news . .
