COLD CASE: Newborn baby stuffed in shopping bags and dumped in the Credit River

He would’ve turned 17 this past spring. But instead, he lived, at most, for only a few hours.

''On April 25, 2000, the boy’s body was found stuffed in several shopping bags at the edge of the Credit River around Erindale Park, in the area of Dundas Street and Mississauga Road''.

'The stores where the plastic bags originated from — including Laura and Highland Farms — were canvassed and customer lists were obtained and analyzed. Nothing of substance was found.'

''Investigators say the baby was full term, and was probably no more than a couple of days old. They also say it appears the child was born without medical assistance.
There was no obvious cause of death, and the autopsy may tell the police whether the child was stillborn.
The police say they have a report of a couple seen arguing in the area of the park on Tuesday. They would like to talk to those people.''
