Canada's Missing | Case details
"Gaby Luonga Kombe was last seen on August 23, 1999, in Montreal, Quebec. He had to go to Pie-IX metro station to meet a friend. Later in the evening, he called his son to tell him he was heading home. He has not been seen or heard from since."
Gaby was a big anti-racist activist in Quebec in a very turbulent time in Canada (Quebecois separatists were very violent) .
French Quebeckers' Secession Bid Could Hinge On Immigrant Vote
"Gaby Luonga-Kombe, a Zaire native who heads an anti-racism group, said he received threatening phone calls after he publicly criticized Bouchard’s remark.
``We’re in a democratic country, but we can’t even say what we think,″ he said."
I believe he had a target on his back and I wouldn't be surprised if foul play was involved.
