"Matsatso Beliashvili told CityNews she began noticing her water bottle smelled funny and finding bubbles in the bottle. She decided to buy a new one, but it wasn’t long before it began happening again.

Beliashvili explained she would leave her bottle in a communal area in the store when she wasn’t using it, but when she poured water into it, she noticed a foam similar to soap bubbles.

After speaking with her boss, they checked security footage which allegedly showed a co-worker spraying all-purpose Lysol into her water bottle."

Beliashvili is the business manager for Estee Lauder at the Hudson’s Bay at Yonge and Queen streets. She said Kang works as a counter manager alongside her.

She said she and Kang work together regularly and she did not believe they had any issues prior to the alleged incident."

there were no issues between them that she knew about,

im sure there are lots of workers out there who hate their co-workers deep down inside and the co-worker is totally oblivious to it,

many workers are two-faced with their co-workers

I've had coworkers I really disliked for one reason or another. But putting Lysol in someone's water is an absolutely nutso way of dealing with that.

In September of last year, she began noticing that an unusual number of bubbles were forming inside her bottle when she tried to fill it up. Beliashvili considered it odd, but didn't think about it too much.

Over the next several months, however, she started to experience bouts of nausea, headaches and skin irritations, she said. In some instances, she had to take days off work because she felt so ill.

"It was hell what I went through," she told CBC Toronto on Friday.

This month, she started to suspect that perhaps the symptoms were connected to her water bottle, after noticing an odd odour whenever she took a sip. So on Jan. 8, on the advice of a colleague, Beliashvili replaced her water container with a brand new one.

Her ailments continued, despite the new purchase.

"That's when I knew 100 per cent that something was wrong," Beliashvili said. "

"Beliashvili was shocked because she had thought she and her colleague had a "normal relationship" that was both professional and friendly.

"We had to work on a daily basis together, five days a week," Beliashvili said. "It's really hard to believe and it's very heartbreaking. I'm really heartbroken."


"Beliashvili said the experience has been deeply traumatic for her. She's not certain whether she will return to work at the same location. What hurts most, she said, is that her accused co-worker knew Beliashvili is the mother of a young child.

"I could never imagine that someone would be full of hate to this extent. It's shocking," Beliashvili said."

Why would you wait months to switch out the bottle??
Another reason to only drink out of sealed water bottles. IMO

Just a bit of trivia, in the early 1900s lysol was the most used poison for suicides.

a bit of ironic info, i used to date two girls (at seperate times) who worked as maids at 2 different but very popular and well known hotel chains, they said when they cleaned the hotel rooms, they would clean the glasses that people use in the rooms with lysol, or pledge furniture cleaner, it gives the glasses a nice shine and makes the water taste like lemons.....that is why if the water you drink out of the hotel glasses tastes funny for the first bit, you know why.....i no longer drink from hotel glasses, i will only use the plastic glasses that come in sealed plastic wrap, or i bring my own

After what I've heard about hotels, I don't drink out of their glasses nor use the coffee pot without cleaning it out first. I have heard about polishing them....with all sorts of stuff.

This lysol loving woman is not only charged but lost her job today as well.

I can't help but feel there is much more to this story.......hmmm IMO, MOO

Good grief, how dense are these women??? (And those who instructed them to use Lysol & Pledge)? Unreal! SMH.
