Police seek missing Toronto woman believed to be in Halton area

A 32-year-old woman has been reported missing, and Halton police say they have reason to be concerned for her safety.

She is described as five-foot-five with a medium build, and has black shoulder-length hair.

''The 32-year-old from Toronto was last seen at a Hamilton club called Sankofa Restaurant & Lounge. Those close to her believe she traveled from there to a rural Burlington property shortly after. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Galastica’s friends and family have access to her Snapchat account, and say the last time she used the app was Aug. 31 at 1:54 p.m. somewhere in Burlington. Several Instagram accounts that appear to be associated with Galastica, which feature videos on fitness, healthy eating and personal branding, were active until about Aug. 22.''

Hamilton Police Shut Down Club 33 and Sankofa Lounge

Club was closed down permanently.

On August 31, 2024, Hamilton Police returned to Club 33 to ensure compliance with the liquor license suspension. At 3:51 a.m., Police observed that Club 33 was continuing to serve alcohol and allowing patrons to smoke on the premises. Police then ordered the premises to shut down and had all bar staff and patrons exit without incident.

Later that day, Police returned to Club 33 with a Provincial Offence Act search warrant and searched the premises for additional evidence of the license suspension breach. Police seized all alcohol found on the premises. Additionally, a small quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine was located and seized.

Club 33 remained closed for the rest of the weekend following the execution of the warrant. The Club 33 LLCA investigation is ongoing, and charges are pending.

On the same evening, Hamilton Police also visited the Sankofa Bar at 92 Jackson St. E, adjacent to Club 33, after observing patrons entering the premises through the front door.

Officers conducted a LLCA inspection and found the premises in violation of their conditions, including failing to remove signs of alcohol service by 2:45 a.m. Police ordered the bar to shut down, and the premises were cleared without incident. The LLCA investigation into Sankofa is ongoing.

Hamilton Police are committed to enforcing all relevant provisions in the LLCA to keep Hamilton a safe place for everyone.

Missing Toronto mother last seen at Burlington home later investigated as drug lab

As CityNews reported, Galastica's last known location was at a home in rural Burlington following a night out in Hamilton.

''An unpublished video found in Galastica’s Snapchat account showed a quick pan of a room in the home, establishing that there were three people there and confirming she had been inside the home.

She was with a woman, who CityNews has identified, but whom we are calling “Jane” to protect the police investigation, and a man. “Jane” has declined to speak with CityNews.

Galastica’s friend Shemica Duncan had passwords for several accounts. She shared with CityNews what was going through her head when she found the video.

“She was trying to warn us about this man because she grew suspicious that something was going to happen. She definitely felt like something was going to happen,” said Duncan.

On Oct. 21, Duncan was charged with several offences, including human trafficking. These charges are outstanding and there is no indication that these charges are related to Galastica’s disappearance at this time.

The video is time stamped at 1:56 p.m. on August 31, 2024.''
