Circumstances of Disappearance:
In the late evening of August 24, 1975, a brown 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix exploded in the parking lot of the Château Berthelet hotel, in Berthierville, Québec. A witness reported seeing a seriously injured man near the vehicle and offered to help. The injured man refused assistance and left in another vehicle, which was waiting in the background on Route 138. In the course of the investigation, Meagher was identified as the seriously injured man. He has never been seen or heard from again.
