If the MP reports make the point to mention an "argument" that allegedly ensued, wouldn't it also be relevant in the circumstances of his disappearance as to whom it was with and what was it regarding? After all, this person was the last one to see him. Was this person someone in his household or a visitor? Who reported him missing?

Also, his vehicle was mentioned and we are to assume it was never located?

Lots of ambiguity in this case, at least with the details provided.
