On Sunday January 28th just before 6:00 p.m. a Brockville Police officer observed a partially clothed man running south bound on Hill Street away from staff from the Brockville General Hospital. Moments later a call was received from an Ormond Street resident that a male had broken into his residence and stole some clothing before fleeing the residence. Witnesses last report seeing this man in the area of Hamilton Street.

Tearful plea to Josh Hawkins

Police in Brockville have helped a devastated family send an emotional video message to a missing son and brother.

And officers believe someone out there has critical information about the whereabouts of Joshua Hawkins. Police are urging anyone with such information to get it to them in any way possible.

Police, who searched the area overnight at the time using a sniffer dog brought in from the Ontario Provincial Police, have been chasing leads and tips from public appeals.

City police suggested to family members that recording the video appeal might help locate Hawkins, Staff Sgt. Tom Fournier said later Wednesday.

“We had been discussing for a couple of weeks about the possibility of doing it,” said Fournier.

The new effort comes as previous attempts to find the missing man have failed.

“We’ve had several tips and we’ve searched several areas,” said the sergeant.

Areas of interest have included the Harold’s Demolition lot near the spot where Hawkins was last seen, said Fournier.

Other tips have led police to the wooded area west of the former Black and Decker site on Central Avenue West and the Brock Trail.

All our means of usually tracking him have been exhausted,” said Fournier.

The investigation has reached a stage in which police are depending on members of the public.

“Somebody knows his whereabouts, either knows his whereabouts or knows what happened to him,” said Fournier.

If these individuals are afraid of consequences for stepping forward, there are other ways of conveying information to police, said Fournier.

Could be mental illness,(JMO) basing that on a comment or two on the LE facebook page.
I sure hope he has found some place where he feels safe

It only looks that way. An enormous amount of people in the city know what happened and because everyone allegedly involved keep dying in suspicious “accidents” the truth is getting harder to find

Hey ShakeyGraves,

What do you think happened to Josh? It seems impossible for someone to just disappear.
