Six months later, Toronto police still searching for Lebohang
''Reached at his home in Sudbury, Toby’s father, David Nicol, said his family hopes their son and brother will turn up alive, but admitted they’ve come to accept that might not be the case.

“Of course, we would love to see him come home, but realistically, we’re prepared to hear that he’s gone,” Nicol told toronto.com.

Toby, who was adopted from the southern African nation of Lesotho as a baby, grew up in Sudbury with his loving parents and two sisters.

His father said as a teen his son started experimenting with drugs, which he said led him down some difficult paths.

About 20 years ago, Toby left his family and eventually settled in Toronto.

Nicol said his son sometimes has a roof over his head, while at other points he’s unhoused.

Last he’d heard, Toby has been evicted from his place back in February, but was sharing a room with someone.

“Life has been tough for him … We feel badly we couldn’t have gotten (Toby) out of Toronto, out of that scene,” said Nicol, adding regardless of what happens, they know he’s in God’s care.

Nicol said Toby would call them now and then, but the last time they heard from him was in mid-May.''

Outreach workers concerned about homeless men going missing from downtown Toronto
JUN 09, 2020 Snipped
Outreach workers are growing concerned about the number of street-involved men going missing in recent weeks from the downtown core area. Long-time outreach worker Greg Cook is worried. “I started noticing (homeless men disappearing) in late May,” said Cook, who has worked at Sanctuary Toronto since 2009. Cook, who said he doesn’t see any kind of pattern at this point, has compiled and is regularly updating a list of street-involved men who have gone missing and those who have been found. He attributes the rise in missing men to the fact most drop-in centres and outreach programs have been closed due to physical distancing and increased health and safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Toronto police are looking for two missing men:
Lebohang “Toby” Nicol, 39, who was last seen on Friday, May 15 near Augusta and Oxford streets.
