An autopsy conducted on a badly burned body discovered in a wooded area of North Vancouver last month has revealed that the homicide victim was a woman.

But police have still not identified the person whose body was discovered in a shelter along a trail near Lynn Creek Nov. 28...

No further information has been released, including whether or not investigators have confirmed a cause of death in the case.

A 41-year-old homeless woman has been identified as the victim of a November homicide in North Vancouver.

Lisa Dawn MacPherson of North Vancouver has been identified by the RCMP’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team as the victim whose burned body was discovered in a wooded area near East Keith Road and Mountain Highway Nov. 28...

Foster said MacPherson was last seen alive on Nov. 24, a few days before her body was found, in the City of North Vancouver.

MacPherson “led a transient lifestyle” and had recently stayed at a homeless shelter, said Foster.

MacPherson suffered from bipolar disorder and while her family hoped she would overcome it, it wasn't unusual for her to go missing for long stretches of time, Chisholm said...

Because of this, Chisholm has now decided to make helping the homeless in Saint John a lifelong mission. She hopes she can prevent similar acts of violence from happening here.

"It's overwhelming," she said. "I think people think of homeless people and addicted people as disposable people and they're not."
