N.W.T. RCMP asking for public's help in 30-year-old cold case
December 30, 2020
''It's a "haunting file," says Cpl. Mike Lewis, of the Northwest Territories' RCMP historical case unit.

Mary Rose Keadjuk, 24, was reported missing to the Yellowknife RCMP in September 1990.

Police said in a news release Tuesday that she went missing at some point between late June and August 1990. She had been living at the Gold Range Hotel, where her belongings were found, along with her glasses, which she relied upon.

Partial human remains were found in Yellowknife in 2003 and that forensic DNA analysis in 2018 confirmed they were those of Keadjuk.''

24 years old, from Kugluktuk, Nunavut

''Mary Rose Keadjuk, 24, was a mother to a four-year-old boy and was pregnant when she was last seen on June 28, 1990 at the Gold Range Hotel in Yellowknife. She wasn’t reported missing until September 1990. A human bone fragment was found in Yellowknife in 2003, and a 2018 forensic DNA analysis determined that it belonged to Keadjuk. The police searched the area where the bone fragment was found at the time, but could not find more human remains. Const. Jack Keefe of the RCMP’s major crimes unit, said he’s proud they never gave up trying to identify the remains.''
