'Two men were on board a Piper Comanche that left Delhi, Ont., on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. and was bound for Marathon. The aircraft was reported overdue about three hours later by a flight information centre in London, Ont., said senior public affairs officer Maj. Trevor Reid of the Trenton, Ont.-based Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre.'

The search is focused about 60 kilometres north of the Sault, the last known position for the aircraft. Efforts to find the missing plane are primarily being done by air. The terrain is “quite difficult,” said Reid.

“Very hilly, very rough terrain,” he said. Snow is “very deep,” up to five feet, in some locations.''
'Dr. Ness Amano, a dentist from Marathon, went missing when he flew from Sault Ste. Marie to his community in July 2005. He wasn’t reported missing for more than a week. Amano is presumed dead. A search covered 30,000 square kilometres and involved nine aircraft and four Canadian Coast Guard vessels.'
