L&A County OPP investigate the discovery of human remains in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory

Officers of the Lennox and Addington County OPP responded to the discovery of human remains in the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory Sat., May 17.

'Officers with the Lennox and Addington (L&A) County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the discovery of human remains at a location near Hwy. 49, between Old Highway 2 and Lower Slash Road shortly before 3 p.m., on Saturday, May 17, according to a statement released Saturday evening.'

''According to police, the remains appear to have been there for an extended period of time.''

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say human remains found in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory earlier this year have been identified, and no foul play is suspected.

On Thursday, OPP said the deceased has since been identified as a male from Tyendinaga who would have been 69 at the time of his death in 2019.
