Canada's Missing | Case details
No photo
Oswald Bear departed from his parents' residence in Peguis First Nation, Manitoba on October 19, 1969 with the intention of harvesting wood in a nearby forest. Oswald was well-acquainted with the area and enjoyed the task of chopping wood. He had spent a considerable amount of time in the area and was intimately familiar with it. He had never been lost in the bush and had never failed to return home previously. At 6:15 p.m., he visited his sister's residence, which was located nearby. His sister advised him to return home shortly thereafter to alleviate their mother's concern. Oswald left his sister's residence with the intention of returning home, but he was not seen again.
