Here is a google map of the intersection of Hart Highway and Christopher Drive. Looks like at least on part of it there are fairly dense trees near the edge of the road. With mostly dark clothing, a dark bicyle, and perhaps only the light on the back of the helmet he might be hard to see as daylight dwingdled (not sure how early it gets dark in that part of BC). I hope they've throughly searched along the road in case he had an accident. Street View · Google Maps

Two things strike me as someone who spends a lot of time on outdoor pursuits.

He’s not really dressed for cycling or hiking or extensive time outdoors in early spring. He was last seen in a weird mix of clothes and gear, which feels a bit amateur. And probably cold!

Most people who are experienced at cycling and camping would carry their gear attached to their bike, not in a backpack on their back. It’s quite uncomfortable to carry a heavy pack while cycling and it could make you quite unstable. Again, feels very amateurish and not well thought out.
