Vancouver Sun, 11 Mar 89.

This sounds to be the same gentleman. Same name, date of passing in the announcement is the same date as disappearance, the Community Living Society (noted in the announcement and as per their website) "
The Community Living Society (CLS) supports individuals with developmental disabilities or acquired brain injuries to live meaningful lives as full citizens." (Pitt Meadows -> Burnaby = 16 miles -> Vancouver = 6 miles).

Very odd! I wonder why he was reported missing to the RCMP? Unless he was found deceased the very same day? Confusing!

I agree. I'm thinking either it's an older record that was not closed Or perhaps Mr. Hicks' body was not recovered and so the record remains open.
