Body discovered at golf course in Milton, police say

Halton police are investigating after a body was discovered at a golf course in Milton.

''Halton police are investigating after a body was discovered at a golf course in Milton.

Halton Regional Police said a golfer spotted what they believed to be a body floating in a river that runs through the Royal Ontario Golf Club course, which is located on Trafalgar Road in Milton, at approximately 1 p.m.

When officers arrived at the golf course, police said they confirmed the presence of a body within Sixteen Mile Middle Creek, which flows from Lake Ontario towards Milton.

Const. Ryan Anderson told reporters at the scene that it’s unclear exactly where the body came from or how long it’s been in the water.

“I can tell you that there looks to be some signs of exposure to the elements,” Anderson said.

The body has not yet been removed from the creek and Anderson said Halton police’s marine unit, along with Peel police’s marine unit and dive team, will be attending the scene.''

''The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) is investigating the discovery of a body in the water of Sixteen Mile Creek located on Royal Ontario Golf Club in Milton.

On June 9, 2022, at approximately 1:00 pm the HRPS was contacted by the golf course after a body was spotted in the water on the course.

The HRPS Marine Unit with assistance from the Peel Regional Police Marine Unit and Milton Fire removed the body and it has been confirmed to be male. Investigators are still working to determine the identity of the person found.

''Halton Regional Police said the body of a man was found Thursday afternoon in Sixteen Mile Creek at the Royal Ontario Golf Club in Milton, Ont.

Spokesman Ryan Anderson said police couldn’t confirm a cause of death yet, but it was clear the body had been in the creek for a while.''

“There was some obvious signs of exposure to the elements,” Anderson said in an interview.

“I wouldn’t want to guess, hypothetically, how long the body had been in the water or if it had come from a different location in the waterway, but it certainly had been some time.”
