Khanna was last heard from at approximately 11:00 p.m. on April 17, 2006 in Edmonton, Alberta. She had called her son informing him that she was going to stop at the bank and then would be home shortly. The police were called the following morning when he awoke and discovered she never made it home.
Khanna's vehicle, a blue 2005 Suzuki Grand Vitara, was located southeast of town in the parking lot of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) on 23 Avenue and 66 Street. Investigators believe she never made it into the RBC since there was no recorded activity on her bank account that night. Khanna's former boyfriend who has since died, is the main suspect in her case but no charges were brought against him. Officials suspect foul play in her disappearance but she has never been located.
