Case Classification: Endangered Missing
Missing Since: December 2, 1979

Olecka was last seen leaving his residence in Molson, Manitoba to go rabbit hunting on December 2nd, 1979. He was reported missing the following day when he failed to return home. Olecka was an experienced woodsman and there was no logical reason for him to be overdue.
Ground searches were conducted in 'blizzard-like' weather conditions with the assistance of a police dog, but were terminated on December 8, 1979 due to inclement weather. Despite extensive search efforts, Olecka was never located and his whereabouts remain unknown. Foul play is suspected in his case.
