Lengthy and heartbreaking, rbbm.

''Who is this youth, lying unconscious in a bed at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, with life-threatening injuries?
Don’t know.
Why has no one come forward to put a name to the boy?

Don’t know.
How can it be that nobody is missing him?
Don’t know.
Why was he beaten to a pulp, with grievous head injuries, and deposited on a sidewalk in Etobicoke?

Don’t know.''

''Toronto can be a heartless city. Do-not-snitch rules of the street often discourage witnesses or those with information from co-operating with crime investigations. But this situation is extraordinary, a living John Doe, a mere boy, maybe as young as 15 who hasn’t been claimed by anybody. No one is at the side of his bed, praying that he opens his eyes and speaks.

How deplorable is that? “Tell me about it,” a police source sighs. “We’re looking into missing person occurrences all over the province. Nothing has been anywhere near identifying this person. It would be nice if someone comes forward and reports this kid missing.”

Of course, it’s entirely possible that a parent or guardian may have been responsible for the damage inflicted on the boy. But that’s probably the least likely scenario. This has retribution for some undetermined reason written all over it.

The victim, investigators have speculated, could be anywhere within the range of 12 to 20 years old. He’s five-foot-four with a slight build, weighing just 95 pounds. Medium complexion, short black hair and clean-shaven, with a scar above his right eyebrow. He was found wearing a puffy black jacket and black pants.

By the grace of God he’ll emerge from unconsciousness, survive his devastating battering and say: “My name is …” But nobody should be left like this, in suspended anonymity while fighting to stay alive, not even someone to hold the boy’s hand.''

IDENTIFIED! rbbm.
''Toronto police say they have now identified a man whose identity was a mystery a month after he was found critically injured in Etobicoke.

Police located the young John Doe in the area of Celestine Drive and the Westway shortly after 11 p.m. on March 5, after receiving information that a victim had been taken out of the trunk of a dark coloured sedan by two suspects. The pair then allegedly left him on the sidewalk and drove away.

The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition and has been unable to communicate with police.

In a news release Wednesday morning, police identified the victim as a 19-year-old man. He remains in hospital in critical condition, police say.

"To protect the safety and identity of the victim, we will not be releasing any further information at this time," police said.''

I'm sure this has to do with gang activity. The area where he was found is the stomping grounds of the Dixon Bloods. Toronto's late mayor Rob Ford used to hang out with some of the members doing drugs, etc.

Not too far away from the area to the northeast is another gang area where the Izzy Blocc Crips hang out.

No one will be talking, imo. Not even the victim. The jacket he had on is one that is revered in the hip hop community. I think Rihanna was wearing a red one during her Superbowl performance. They ain't cheap but no one stole it.
