''Gajula is the city’s 50th homicide of the year.

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of a homicide investigation.

On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 10:41 a.m., police responded to a radio call for a Suspicious Incident in the Keele Street and Hillary Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- the body of a deceased woman was found in the area

- officers attended the area and located the deceased woman

The Homicide Unit has taken carriage of the investigation.

The deceased woman has been identified as Varsha Gajula, 41, of Caledon.

This is an active investigation and police remain in the area carrying out inquiries to establish the full circumstances of the occurrence.

Anyone who may have seen Varsha Gajula, have heard, or witnessed anything suspicious, is urged to contact Homicide detectives.''
 
I pray they can find and prosecute her murderer(s) so she can receive the justice she deserves.

How did this beautiful woman come to such an ugly end, her body put in a suitcase and dumped far away from her Caledon home?

It's can be quite prevalent in the Indian communities.

Two men have been arrested as part of a homicide investigation and a third person is wanted for Second Degree Murder.

On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at 10:43 a.m., police responded to a radio call for a Suspicious Incident in the Keele Street and Hillary Avenue area.

It is reported that:

- the body of a deceased woman was found in the area

- officers attended the area and located the woman inside a suitcase
The Homicide Squad took carriage of the investigation.
The deceased woman was identified as Varsha Gajula, 41, of Caledon.
As of Sunday, August 29, 2021, a number of search warrants were executed as part of the investigation. As a result, two men were arrested.
Andre Bartley, 35, of Toronto, and Christopher Daley, 57, of Toronto, were both charged with:
1. Accessory After the Fact – Homicide
2. Indignity to Human Remains.
They appeared virtually at Old City Hall on Saturday, August 28, 2021 and Sunday, August 29, 2021, respectively.
As a result of extensive inquiries, Carita Jackson, 37, of Toronto, has been identified as a suspect and is wanted on a warrant for:
1. Second Degree Murder''
