Greater Sudbury Police are asking for the public's assistance to locate 26-year-old Tyler Haney, who was last seen in the evening of Nov. 8 in the New Sudbury area.

He has not been in contact with family and friends since, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Haney is described as Caucasian, 5-11, 160 pounds, with a slim build, brush cut blonde hair, facial scruff, scar on his left cheek and a broken front tooth. He was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a reflective construction jacket and dark brown boots.

Greater Sudbury Police say they've received new information that Tyler Haney was seen in the area of Amberdale Court shortly after 12 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017.

Police issued a missing person's report for Haney more than a week ago, on Nov. 13. They previously said he was last seen in the evening of Nov. 8 in the New Sudbury area.

"Tyler's whereabouts and fate remain a complete mystery.

"It's a living nightmare," said his mom. "Every scenario has literally gone through my head. The first thing was, did someone come in and take him and kill him? But the more I think about it, the more I can't see it."

Her hope, she said, is that Tyler had a "mental breakdown." Not that she wants her son to have suffered, of course, but because it would mean he is still alive, and would explain why he hasn't been in touch.

"I know if my son was in a right state of mind, he would not be gone and not contacting me," she said. "I'm just praying he's still here and that somebody has seen him along the way, even if it was a few weeks ago. Because there's been nothing, and I need some leads or something to give me hope." "

...At the GoFundMe page, Quenneville says the “dreaded nightmare began” when Tyler’s roommate looked for him on the morning of Nov. 9 — he was going to take him to work — and found he wasn’t home.

Haney worked in construction, says his aunt, and the roommate had seen him in bed the night before. Police said that last glimpse of Haney occurred shortly after midnight.

“His belongings remained in his bedroom,” according to the GoFundMe page. “The belongings he left behind were his wallet, identification, cellphone and any other pertinent belongings.”

Tyler did not own a vehicle,“but could be seen as a passenger or even hitchhiking.”

Amberdale Court is a dead end street with a green space beyond....and BEARS....

Greater Sudbury Police said Monday that the body of Tyler Haney, 27, was discovered Sunday around 2 p.m.
