"At a news conference at the scene Monday afternoon, Det.-Sgt. John Braybrook said it may take "a day or two" to determine the sex of the person.

Once that happens, police are hoping to identify the person through dental records or DNA analysis, and they will take a look at unsolved missing persons cases, if needed, Braybrook told reporters.

The gruesome discovery was made by a passerby near Uplands Golf and Ski Club, near Bathurst Street and Highway 407."

From an older link when this handsome and much loved father first went missing...
R.I.P.Robert Hagans.
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news...elp-in-finding-missing-father/article4260500/

"The brothers said their father has some memory problems, but has never been a missing person, and never stayed out for more than 24 hours.

They suspect he may have fallen or, given the severe temperatures last week, suffered heat stroke.

Robert Hagans worked for Manulife Holdings across North America. Bill, 55, described his father as self-reliant and kind-hearted, "a good man." He's an avid reader, Bill said, and also in the amidst of writing a book about physics.

"He thinks he's smarter than Stephen Hawking," Bill said light-heartedly and, for a fleeting moment, the tension in the room broke.

Noticeably distraught, Stephen, 53, teared-up as he sent this message to his father: "I love and miss my dad and dad, if you're out there, please come home."

The fourth Hagans brother, Jeff, 39, is in the navy and on board the HMCS Vancouver, currently off the coast of Libya. The brothers said it's been hard for Jeff to be isolated at this difficult time"
