Toronto Police Service :: News Release #43337
Missing Person Unit
416-808-7411

Case #: 2001-106269
The Missing Person Unit (MPU) is highlighting a case from Saturday, June 16, 2001, of human remains recovered from Bayview Avenue and the Prince Edward Viaduct (also known as the Bloor Street Viaduct) area.

The remains are of a white man, 50-60, estimated to be between 5'2" and 5'5", 126 lbs., brown eyes, grey and brown hair, and at the time one day’s growth of facial hair. He wore upper and lower dentures and may have been a smoker.

He was wearing a black sweater, a yellow/green checkered shirt, a pair of green pants with a black belt and black shoes.

Recently the Ontario Pathologist’s office, with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police, undertook to create an artist’s rendition of this man in the hopes that it will help someone recognize this individual and bring some resolution to both his family and the investigation.

The MPU ensures the investigative response of Missing Persons and Unidentified Human Remains investigations including historic unsolved cases.

This case is also featured on Canada's Missing website, which is the website for the National Centre for Missing Persons and Unidentified Remains.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7411, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online at www.222tips.com, online on our Facebook Leave a Tip page, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637). Thank you for the link!

''Case reference: 2006003299

On June 16, 2001, the body of a Caucasian male was found near Bayview Avenue, under the Prince Edward Viaduct on Bloor Street East, Toronto. His post-mortem length was measured to be approximately 5’2"-5’5" however; this measurement may not represent his actual living height due to post-mortem changes noted at autopsy. He has severe emphysema and nicotine staining on his left hand suggesting he may have been a smoker. His appendix was present.''
