Such an interesting case!

A few things I've noticed, just to mention. Although the Academy of Learning is based in Ontario, they have offices in Langley, Surrey and Vancouver (I haven't checked if any of them opened post-2013, but i'm going to presume at least one of them has been around for a while.) It also seems like a bag you could probably pick up easily in a thrift store, so my guess he would still be from the BC area.

Many homeless, as far as i know, don't make their way up to Whistler, ESPECIALLY in winter. However, if he did commit suicide then there is the possibility he just went up there to do it, but for me that seems like a stretch.

My guess is he was potentially estranged from his family, therefore never reported missing, but not homeless.

Received confirmation of exclusion by British Columbia coroner's service: Anthony MANGHELLI is not the Whistler UID.

the MP Richard Valanstine has been nagging me and nagging me...I know there are some discrepancies but the fact that he went to live in the bush AND has long hair in a ponytail is bothering me. @Manwel , how did you contact BC coroner service? I know if I dont get Valanstine at least excluded its gonna drive me crazy!

Got a reply from Ian Charlton from the SIU. He compared Vanalstine with photos of this UID (I don't know if he meant unreleased postmortem photographs or the facial composite) and said that Vanalstine has been ruled-out.
This man now has two known rule-outs:

Our victim was a 64-year-old male from Ontario. He left in early November 2013 and traveled to British Columbia. His name was redacted from the coroner's report. The cause and manner of the death was suicide.

Via email. It does not indicate much other than what I have already shared. He was identified via DNA comparison with family members in May 2021.
