Chloe's was abducted by her mother, Aline Rivas-Vera, on March 15, 2006. A federal warrant for International Parental Kidnapping was issued for Aline on June 28, 2006. They are believed to have traveled to Mexico, possibly the Mexico City area. In June 2009, the Mexican federal court ordered Chloe to be returned to her father in the United States, but her mother has been hiding her from Mexican authorities as well.
