Christine was last seen by an off-duty police man on June 6th, 2017, while hiking in the woods on a trail near the Koppenbrüller cave in the area of Dachstein-Krippenstein Austria in flip flops and a light summer dress. The cave is a popular tourist destination and easy to reach - however, hiking in the mountainous regions of Austria without proper footwear and a survival pack is never advised.
A police dog followed her scent along the hiking trail, but it ended at the train station in Bad Aussee.
She did not take her passport with her, and no activity has ever been recorded on her bank accounts since she vanished. She lived in an apartment in Linz.
Christine suffers from depression and bipolar disorder. Her Google search history in the days before her disappearance led police to believe she was suicidal. In her room, they found a piece of paper with the words: "It's hopeless," said the future. The case has since gone cold.
