CO- Amanda Yellico, 40-12 Dec 2018; Thomas Randall Addington, 60 -*Charged* 16 Sep 2019

Addington’s two-week trial is still scheduled to begin Oct. 21.

Addington is set to be back in court 8:30 a.m. Oct. 16. The hearing, expected to last all day, will address pending motions in the case, such as a motion for sanctions for discovery violations alleging the prosecutor did not provide certain records in a diligent fashion. An additional hearing may be scheduled before Oct. 16 to specifically address admissible expert testimony to be used at trial.

Addington, 60, is accused of firing the gun that released the fragmented projectile that killed Yellico, 40. In May, Addington pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and first-degree assault.

During a preliminary hearing April 29, Florence Police Detective Alex Wold said Addington told him that it “pissed him off” that Yellico wouldn’t leave his residence, and that she did things to incite him, like not doing dishes or housework, which was part of the agreement for letting her stay there.

He said Yellico had been gone from the home for a period of time and had returned three days prior to the shooting.

Wold said Addington thought the ex-husband of his current girlfriend had sent Yellico back to “mess with him” and he thought that she was plotting with someone to take his home.
