Forensic experts determined it to be the body of a [Native American] male in his mid-sixties, who stood about six feet tall and weighed approximately 180-190 pounds. The body has been dressed in a striped shirt, blue pants, and a baseball cap with the logo "Kicking Horse Job Corps." There were also a pair of broken eyeglasses and tobacco can found on him.

Interesting that the different sources give varying accounts of how old they believe him to be. Also, I can't say I'm shocked that nobody recognized this man from the reconstruction.

I sent a message to Doe Network asking for clarification on the age. On their main UID page, here, it lists the man’s age as 40-65 years. When you actually get into the profile it just has 50 years. Hopefully they can find more information.

I’m not surprised he wasn’t recognized as either.

About this Case:

On April 15, 1982 around the area of Interstate 70 and Peoria Street in an open field a rancher found the skeletal remains of a human body. Forensic experts determined in to be the body of an Anglo-American Indian male in his mid-sixties, who stood about six feet tall and weighed approximately 180-190 pounds. The body has been dressed in a striped shirt, blue pants and a baseball cap with the logo "Kicking Horse Job Corps." There were also a pair of broken eyeglasses and a tobacco can found on him.

Some info about the kicking horse jobs center, The kicking horse job corps center closed in 2019. It was apparently for Native American people only and it remained that way for many decades, that was up until 2007 when all races were finally allowed to go there and it opened to non natives as well.

Although there were some positive reviews I’ve read. Many other reviews I read were extremely negative, as allegations of bullying both physically and emotionally, staff promoting smoking, underage sex, and all sorts of bad stuff.

Those were the recent reviews but have to think was this school always like this? And if John Doe worked at this corps center. Did he do something bad? That got him killed?

I had a look at the NamUs listings for missing men around the UID's height prior to 4/15/1982.
James W. Morse went missing 2/23/1982 and has similar glasses, but the only photos I could find of him weren't very good. He also went missing from West Palm Beach, Florida, of all places - plus, his killer said he dumped the body (not yet found) in Florida. His murderer was apprehended in Illinois.
Melvin E. Burns went missing 8/25/1981 and also wears similar glasses, and he, too, suffers from a low quality picture on NamUs. He went missing from Cheyenne, OK.
Robert W. Keenan went missing 11/28/1981 from Seattle, WA. He wore reading glasses. No photo available.
