FBI offers $10,000 reward in 2004 cold case
MONTEZUMA COUNTY, Colo. — A $10,000 reward is being offered for information about the death of a man who disappeared from Montezuma County 19 years ago and was later found dead.
Avery Whiteskunk was reported missing on Jan. 31, 2004. His body was found on March 19 of that year on the northern edge of the Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservation, near County Road G in Montezuma County, according to a bulletin from the FBI. Whiteskunk was from the Towaoc, which is the headquarters of the reservation.
He would have been 42 years old when he was reported missing. The FBI bulletin does not say how Whiteskunk died.
