Military version of the C172 Skyhawk, originally owned by the U.S. Army.
The single-engine Cessna T-41B was flying from Fremont County Airport to Centennial Airport, FAA Public Affairs Specialist Ian Gregor told FOX31 Sunday. The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday but the site was not located until Sunday morning.

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.

A Cessna T-41B Mescalero, N15188, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Victor, Colorado. The pilot and three passengers were fatally injured.

Preliminary information indicates that the airplane departed Fremont County Airport (1V6), Colorado, and was destined to Denver-Centennial Airport (APA/KAPA), Colorado. The airplane departed runway 29, climbed right and headed to the north. This flight path leads to an area of mountains. The airplane eventually crashed into rising wooded terrain and a post crash fire ensued. Heavy winds were reported at the time.
