There was a serial killer active in Colorado during this time period when this Jane doe was found.

It's possible he had something to do with it, but it seems to be a long way from his "hunting-ground". Is there any indication he was in Fremont County around that time for some reason?

You’re right it seems far, I was just throwing his name out there because he was in Colorado and he was active you never know.
However he mostly only targeted prostitutes. There’s nothing that’s been mentioned that the Jane doe was a prostitute.

I'd really like to know how Croce was excluded. She seems like such a good match.

@bombardier - Did you ever suggest Fravel?

Could she be Sylvia Torgow? A long shot, but you never know.

Elaine Dumba had a rose tattoo on her right hand between her thumb and pointer finger. She was reported missing in the 90s from BC, Canada. Last seen apparently in 1989. Could their memory be off? Could this be her?

Did you ever hear something re Elaine Dumba?

I stumbled upon Mary Rawlinson today and am thinking of submitting her... She'd be a pretty good fit, if the flower tattoo wasn't on the left hand instead of the right...

My eyesight is bad but can you guys make out a tattoo on her right arm on the picture below bc I feel like I see an outline. Maybe they got the side wrong in Rawlinsons description.

In her Charley P. file the description of the tattoos is as follows: Rawlinson has a tattoo of a flower bracelet around her left wrist and a tattoo of the words "Coneja Crazy Gangsta" around her ankle.

Mary Colette Rawlinson – The Charley Project

This is the same picture in color, from Mary Colette Rawlinson You can see her tattoo on the left. The right arm looks different in color and IMO there isn't a tattoo there.

Phantom Canyon Jane Doe has been unidentified for 37 years today.

Disappeared in 1986, height nearly matches, She worked at a jewelry store which could explain the numerous rings and the mothers ring she had children, Jane doe Found with a necklace, Bernadette was wearing a necklace an article also mentioned that she had purchased a new jacket. It would be interesting to know how if the jacket was leather like the Jane doe was wearing, Bernadette Caruso

The biggest hurdle is she disappeared in Maryland how in the world would she end up in Colorado?

No known tattoo for this missing woman (no rose on hand), but with the circumstances taken together and the resemblance to the images for the Jane Doe, I really, really wonder. Jane Doe to left, Deborah Lois Dean to right:

Deborah Lois Dean disappeared while she was taking Greyhound from PA back home to Tuscon AZ. (Family were supposed to meet her in Phoenix.) Her last known location was St. Louis 5/3/85. She's 23 yo, 5'2", 125lbs. Her purse was left I guess at a truck stop outside St. Louis along the St. Louis route, and it was ultimately sent back to the family. Deborah never made it back to Phoenix or Tuscon. More Deborah Lois Dean:

Both of Deborah's earlobes are pierced, one ear multiple times. She had an athletic build in 1985. Often changed up her hairstyle. They mention medication that made her teeth slightly greenish hue, I don't see that at all in images of Deborah's teeth when she smiles, so I'm discounting that. Maybe it's too faint to make a difference, maybe it's only certain teeth in back of mouth, not sure. Deborah normally wore rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets and a wristwatch, so a lot of jewelry, and a smoker like the Jane Doe. I saw in a source that the Doe's remains were frozen, at least for a time, before discovery, and LE seemed to think the time of death may have been further back than I'm seeing reflected on other sources.

Just looked it up and saw that PA to St. Louis on Greyhound takes maybe (?) 12 to 20 hours. Would it be possible Deborah struck up a conversation with someone else on the bus, and that "someone" had a vehicle waiting in St. Louis? And that this individual perhaps took her out for a coffee near the station, offered her a ride somewhere? OR that they actually went together to some cafe/truck stop as they were en route to St. Louis & she'd forgotten her purse there. Maybe he noted he'd drive her back to retrieve it. (?)

The location/circumstances of where/how they found the Doe throws off SK vibes more than trucker, jmo. Someone went to considerable trouble piling rocks on top of that Doe for concealment, and that appears to be one very remote location. I cannot streetview or find any images as of yet, going off limited descriptions available. But I'm getting more "hiker" (& perhaps somewhat smaller vehicle) than "trucker" from such maneuvering, but again, jmo.

Have thought for a while this Doe was a traveler and Deborah is one, too.

Am wondering if Phantom Canyon Jane Doe might be Cecile Moch. I remembered the arrowhead pin specifically for this Doe, and I remembered something I thought (?) I'd read about Cecile Moch and jewelry. I can find that her ears were pierced, one ear was pierced three times. I am pretty sure I saw something else for Cecile with jewelry, too, but I can't locate it now, unfortunately. But she was a college student in Santa Barbara and working at the Sunburst Farms Restaurant, which is associated with Normal Paulsen and his Brotherhood of the Sun group, some might term it a cult. I know only that she worked there, I don't know about her status (if any) in terms of Paulsen's commune. She disappeared in early August 1980, car found abandoned, and I'm wondering because I see something of a resemblance to this Doe. PCJDoe on left, Cecile in images to right:

1758363434115.webp
1758363384492.webp
1758365990879.webp

19yo, 5'3", 100lbs. That would make her 25 in 1986. Shape of face looks similar to the Doe's in Cecile's first image there. Hair very similar. About two and a half hours to Lake Arrowhead from Santa Barbara.

Kind of really wondering on this because this Doe was found in 1987, so that's a long time to be unidentified with that distinctive tattoo. Maybe a lapse of time between disappearance and the discovery of a Doe might account for that. With that said, Santa Barbara's a long way from Colorado. But I know there was a lot of turbulence for Sunburst (where Cecile worked) at the time Cecile disappeared, and Paulsen himself took many with him east out of Santa Barbara to Nevada in 1981. I've seen Utah and Arizona mentioned as well.
