This is so awful; poor Mr. Dolce. But it's really great that he got the video (ESPECIALLY the perp) on his phone, bless his heart.
I hope anyone who spots the vehicle or the perp calls LE and stays far, far back...

Omg, I agree, stay far away.
What a wild story.

This guy looks like someone you’d cast to play the villain. How awful for Mr. Dolce but how dumb to bring a rubber glove but not take the phone he was recording you on? The latex glove makes no sense..

According to one of the above articles, it was his next door neighbor who had been cited for an aggressive animal about an hour before. Mind bending.

Colorado Springs police say 53-year-old James Hanlon turned himself in Friday night in the Denver area. The shooting happened Wednesday night and police released a photo of Hanlon on Friday.

According to an arrest affidavit, Dolce filmed the entire incident. An AMR medical tech found the phone lying next to Dolce's body still recording. The medical tech picked the phone up, stopped the recording and played the video back, giving him a glimpse of what had just happened.

The arrest affidavit goes on to state the video shows a blue SUV pulling up to Dolce before an argument started.

"You're stupid," Hanlon says, and Dolce replies, "Say again?"

Hanlon repeats himself, then points a black handgun at Dolce and fires multiple times, the affidavit says. Hanlon is wearing blue disposable gloves.

Dolce falls to the ground and is heard yelling, "Oh my god!" over and over, the affidavit says. The handgun again comes into view and more shots are fired — off-screen this time, because the phone had fallen to the ground.

A suspected killer turned himself in Friday night in the Denver metro area, two days after Colorado Springs police say he fatally shot his next-door neighbor following a dispute that apparently began over an “aggressive animal.”

James William Hanlon II, 53, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of Gary Dolce. Dolce, 63, who was shot several times, was found in the 1800 block of Rimwood Drive.

According to the arrest affidavit, a woman who was driving on Rimwood Drive at the time of the killing told police she heard gunshots, then saw a vehicle on the side of the road with a door open. She saw a man get out of the vehicle and walk toward a person lying on the ground. She thought the man from the vehicle was going to help the man lying on the ground, but, instead, he raised a gun, pointed it at the person’s head and shot him.

The shooting was reported at 6:24 p.m. Less than an hour earlier, at 5:38 p.m., Hanlon was cited by the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region for having an “aggressive animal” the affidavit says.

In an audio recording of Hanlon being cited by Animal Law Enforcement, Hanlon and the animal control officer are heard going back and forth about Hanlon’s “duty to restrain animals and having a dangerous dog.”

More than a month earlier, on Feb. 19, police were called to Rimwood Drive for “an altercation” between Dolce and Hanlon, the affidavit says. Dolce told police “his neighbor was trying to get him to fight and that there were ongoing issues with the neighbor.”

Dude gives new meaning to "The Nightmare Next Door".

So very heartbreaking to read a portion of the conversation with the Animal Control Officer (during citation) that occurred prior to the murder.

Next season on "The Nightmare Next Door". Colorado Springs too, Lt. Joe Kenda's old stomping grounds. Yes, I watch entirely too much crime T.V.
