Colorado manhunt underway for suspect accused in quadruple murder

A 21-year-old man is on the run after allegedly shooting and killing four people around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday morning at a home in Aurora, Colorado, police say.

Police are searching for a suspect accused of shooting and killing four adults in the early hours of Sunday morning at a home in Aurora, Colorado.

Joseph Castorena, a 21-year-old man who police say "has a history involving domestic violence," was still on the run as of Sunday afternoon.

His partner, an adult female, and two "very young children" were found alive at the home unharmed. Three adult males and one female were found dead.

Castorena, who is 5'4" with a slim build and has a lion tattoo on his neck, lives a couple of blocks away from the crime scene with his family, police said.

It's hard to make sense of who's who in this. The way it's reported is very confusing.

From what I can gather we have:

Jesus, the father.
Mariano, twin sister.
Ken, Mariano's husband.
RV neighbour.

Surviving the attack was the ex girlfriend and Mariano and Ken's 2 children.

Where were the ex girlfriend's child/children?

The mother of both girls says no-one has been in touch, not her daughters or grandkids. To be fair they're probably in a safe place until he's caught I would imagine.

The two children are the offspring of the deceased Mariana (twin sister of the ex-girlfriend) and her husband, Ken. These two small children hid with the ex-girlfriend in a locked bathroom during the shooting.

The first article linked in this thread says the killer and his ex-girlfriend have 2 kids but they did not/do not have custody of them (I think another family member did, though, which is one of the reasons the article explains the killer continually harassed the members of the ex-girlfriend’s family: he alleged they were keeping his kids from him).

Heart wrenching, my prayers are with this entire family. They need to get this guy quickly. I don't see him stopping, he has nothing to lose. Dear God, so sad!

This is absolutely tragic. This family was fully aware of the potential danger of this man ... reached out for help ....and the system failed to protect them. May he be quickly found and placed in custody in order to protect the remaining family members and any others who get in his way. And may his ex somehow recover and heal from the tragedy in order to provide loving care to her sister's children. MOO

I checked for updates yesterday and again today but didn't find any. My guess is LE is still looking for him. I wish they'd hit the media again with the reward info. MOO

This is such a sad, terrible event. Her July 19 post seems so eerie now ("WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A GUNSHOT"). Her kids will be orphans now, and why? All because of a little man with a gun who is a violent perpetrator. I hope they find him quickly before he strikes again.
