Monday, the Evans Police Department put out a call asking for help finding a missing woman.

Police say that Evans resident Lydia Gutierrez was last seen on Sept. 29 at about 6:30 p.m. in the area of 37th Street and Highway 85.

The missing woman is in her early sixties and was wearing a bright blue hoodie.

Police have not offered an explanation of circumstances surrounding the woman’s disappearance.

[h=1]Body found in drained detention pond[/h]A body was found Tuesday in a drained detention pond in Evans -- the same area a search was conducted for a woman reported missing in late 2017.
According to the Evans Police Department, the body was found near the South Platte River during a routine check.
A spokesperson with the Evans Police Department mentioned in a release the area the body was found is the same location an exhaustive search happened months prior for a missing Evans woman. Police have not confirmed the two cases are connected.

Authorities worked fruitlessly for months to find her, and said on March 13 they had found a body in a drained detention pond near the South Platte River while out on a routine check.

On Friday, the Evans Police Department confirmed the body was that of Gutierrez, after the Weld County Coroner’s Office positively identified her earlier this week.
