The road where he was found is right by a large popular Microbrew place with music. It does travel off into a dead end directly behind the pub that ends in shrubs, trees, and further on, a creek, so that may be why he wasn't found sooner. Boulder police spokeswoman Shannon Aulabaugh said the body was called in by a passerby who reported seeing it on the east side of South Boulder Creek in the area of 1800 South Flatiron Court. Aulabaugh said investigators believe the body ‘had been there for quite some time.’

Thanks for that, I had only seen the announcement put out by CU Boulder. So sad. If on foot, I'd think he went via the Boulder Creek path which forks near Cottonwood Lake. You can also follow the train tracks down that way and end up pretty much where you'e indicated on the map. He may have ridden a bike and any found bike is fair game along the trail, there are MANY tucked under overpasses and I've seen a few tossed into the creek.

Poor kid. I wish he had reached out to friends or family

Coroner rules CU Boulder student's death a suicide
I had wondered what had happened with this case, but had missed the autopsy release last month. And I don't recall any mention while he was missing about his depression and suicidal statements. Died of Ritalin poisoning and drowning.

[According to the report, Solok had a “lethal” amount of the drug in his system, with nine intact capsules and partially digested capsule residue found in his stomach.

The report notes Solok had left a note in his bedroom, had struggled with depression and had made suicidal statements to others.]
