Silver alert.
A 93-year-old man is missing out of Jefferson County and authorities are asking for the public's help locating him. A Senior Alert has been issued for him.

Richard Davis left his home in south Jefferson County on the evening of Oct. 25. He was driving a gold 2005 Honda CRV with license plate number BTN-H87. That evening, before he was reported missing, Colorado State Patrol (CSP) helped him after he ran out of gas along Interstate 25 near milemarker 20, just north of Trinidad.
CSP said at the time, Davis was lucid and did not show any signs of distress. He was wearing a plaid shirt, a black and tan thick vest and tan pants. He was walking with a cane.

He was reported missing after this.

Davis' family said he has no reason to be in south Colorado, but he may be headed to Texas, where he has other family. He has a cognitive impairment and may be confused about his surroundings, according to the Senior Alert.

Davis is described as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. He has gray hair and blue eyes. He wears glasses.

Anybody who sees him is asked to call 911 or the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 303-271-0211.

UPDATE - Richard Davis is still missing and is now known to be wearing a black/tan vest with a plaid shirt and khaki pants. Richard suffers from a cognitive impairment and may be confused about his surroundings. Please contact 911 if you see Richard and/or his Honda CRV.

Texas is a BIG state-It would be nice to know what part of Texas he could be heading.

So it says the State Patrol helped him after he ran out of gas - how did they assist? Bring gas to him, etc.?

Maybe the patrolman had a small gas can to get Richard to the nearest gas station? Since it doesn't mention what they did for him, I'm just wondering if Richard ran out again pretty quickly if he didn't go directly to a station. Maybe they could do a "bullseye" type map showing what stations were in the area and check cameras?

Still no updates or further information I can find. Just another tweet to say the cold weather will be kicking in so time is critical. Where is Richard Davis?

Now this is strange - this Texas Silver Alert says he was last seen in Texline, TX? But it has same I-25 mile marker 20, so probably an error, but it does show that he was believed to be traveling to Dallas:

Great minds! I noticed that too.

If he was planning on traveling that far, I don’t see any suitcases or items in the back of his vehicle.

"Davis' family said he has no reason to be in south Colorado, but he may be headed to Texas, where he has other family." Jeffco man, 93, missing since Wednesday evening

Surely they will have checked with those family members and looked in the surrounding area?

My DH has Alzheimer's. The first thing I did was put a tracker on his car so if he got lost I could find him. I wish all families would do this as soon as they know their loved one is getting dementia. It is so easy and cheap. It could save their life. Hope he is found soon.

[Saturday, JCSO said he was found dead with his car at Charette Lake in Mora County, New Mexico.]
