This article ‘Not an outcome we hoped for’ from 07/15/2018 seems confusing and states that the sheriff's dept. is suspending the search as of last Thurs. Maybe they've received new information. I hope this article hasn't had any negative effects on the search and that TC is located quickly.

Search for Tim Cannon continues into second week
July 16, 2018
Now in its second week, on Monday the search for Tim Cannon has, if anything, intensified, even as time unspools from the morning he was last seen up to today. Since he left his home the morning of July 8, telling his wife Amy he would be in the Iron Mountain area, and upon his wife’s call to dispatch early Monday morning when he didn’t return, an exhaustive search was mounted by San Miguel County Search and Rescue, sheriff’s deputies, and countless volunteers who refuse to give up hope that Cannon, 55, can be found.
[...]
On Saturday, a water bottle was found that was determined by Cannon’s wife to have been in Cannon’s possession when he set out. That was the “credible evidence” that Sheriff Bill Masters said he would need to bring search and rescue teams back in the field.

Based on the location of the found water bottle — about 25 feet above the Deep Creek Trail — the command center was moved from Last Dollar Road to a new location at the western terminus of Serapio Drive, high in the Aldasoro Ranch subdivision. Searches have since focused on the Deep Creek and Remine Creek drainages and surrounding areas. On Sunday, another possible clue emerged when a headlamp was discovered below the Deep Creek trail, further up Remine Creek.

Telluride hiker missing; Dolores K9 crew joins search

Helicopters have been used to insert teams onto mountains and ridges in the search.
Authorized drones with cameras were flown to view inaccessible gullies and cliff areas on the flanks of Iron Mountain, and a drone with a thermal imagery camera was used in the search.
[...]
An experienced hiker, Cannon often goes off trail to climb peaks, Lilly said. She said Cannon had a cell phone but it was turned off, so his location could not be tracked. He left with enough gear for a day’s outing.
