'CLINTON CO. (WOLF) — Pennsylvania State Police is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the resolution of a decades-old homicide case.
The investigation centers on the murder of Wayne Leigh Rifendifer, whose body was discovered on August 19, 1981, in a wooded area off Gottschall Road in Crawford Township, Clinton County, near Ravensburg State Park.
Rifendifer, 30, was found naked with a gunshot wound to the back of his head, and his genitals had been removed. Authorities said they believe he was killed elsewhere before his body was dumped at the location, approximately six miles north of Interstate 80.'

"On June 12, 1982, Marty James Shook, a 22-year-old hitchhiker from Sparks, Nev., was killed execution-style in a canyon near Price, Utah. Shook was shot in the back of the head and his genitals were removed. His nude body was found by a fisherman. The crime is thought to be linked to a serial killer who was responsible for more than a dozen deaths that often left his victims mutilated and abandoned. The killer was never apprehended."
