CA COLD CASE - CA - Joey Ross, 28, Oakdale, 5 July 2006 *murdered*

Hi all!
I just joined websleuths in order to hopefully see if anybody knows anything about a specific cold case I have been very interested in. It has been a very under reported case and has remained unsolved for over 10 years. The victims name is Joey Ross, he was only 28. He was murdered in his home town, Oakdale CA, on July 5 2006.

Anyways, I will link a news article that will try to explain the case. There is not a lot of information about this case at all, or at least not much has been released to the public. Any information/tips/questions/theories and so on would greatly be appreciated!!

Yes! I have looked at both of these in the past. I was just wondering if anyone had ever stumbled across something new? It is so hard to find any information on this case so I am hoping that someone has heard or seen something that I haven't to maybe help me understand this case a bit better.

oey Ross was a sports-loving, big-hearted, open-minded Oakdale man who had dreams of moving to Alaska.

Those dreams were cut short in 2006 when he was stabbed to death.

"He was fun to be around, very shy at first but he did very well with people his own age," Nancy Ross, Joey's mother, told FOX40.

Joey's mother and his father, Bob, have turned their grief into purpose.

"We want justice and we’ve focused on that just night and day," Bob said.

Cold case detective Mike Freudenthal, from the Oakdale Police Department, says he has very few leads.

"Even information they think, 'Well it's not relevant. It’s not important.' It’s very important," he told FOX40. "The smallest tip helps."

I moved out here 12 years ago and heard the story from my uncle who was good friends with the Ross's. It has always perplexed me and wish the detectives would release more details.

Hello. IMy brother gave me some information about the people that were involved. I contacted the Oakdale PD and they did not come out to are house and talk to us or ask us to go in and talk to him. i contacted his mother and she also could not get them to talk to us.

Try the Highway Patrol or the Attorney General's office with the information.

Are you still active on this thread? I lived in Oakdale for years and have been interested in the Joey Ross murder for quite awhile. The friends i made out here went to school with him and had some very interesting perspectives of the murder.
