Cold case detectives are on the hunt for antiquated phone directories in a bid to help crack some of WA’s oldest unsolved crimes.

The West Australian has revealed detectives attached to the special crime division — who investigate unsolved murders and sex assault cases — have recently acquired more than 80 old phone books, some dating back to the 1970s.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have old phone books and street directories pre-1995, including those in CD-ROM format.
